The right hand side of “Fort Knox” has been dismantled and the engine has been covered over, until the new engine shed has been built around it. We hope to complete the new shed by August 2016 utilising our volunteers.
The original internal dividing wall of “Fort Knox” made of flattened oil cans, can be seen. This wall will become a feature in the new engine shed.
A close up clearly shows, how the once square Castrol oil cans, have been cut and flattened to form the dividing wall
Another significant milestone in the overall improvement of the site
- The Ruston Hornsby 4YHR engine covered over until a new engine shed is built around it
- G Vincent (the last mill owner) used flattened oil cans to construct the walls of Fort Knox
